Police describe suspect sought in Northwest Austin bank robbery

7 p.m. update: Police are searching for a man accused of a bank robbery Wednesday at a credit union branch in Northwest Austin.

Authorities believe a man entered the Amplify Federal Credit Union branch at 13050 Pond Springs Road around 2:13 p.m., demanded money from a teller and then walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A weapon was not displayed and no injuries were reported, police said.
The suspect was described as a man about 40-50 years old, and about 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was seen wearing a white UT baseball cap, white long sleeved shirt and dark pants, police said.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the incident to call the Austin police robbery tip line at 512-974-5092, Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS (8477) or text “Tip 103” and a message to CRIMES.

Earlier: Police are investigating a bank robbery Wednesday at a credit union branch in Northwest Austin.

Officers responded at 2:13 p.m. to the Amplify Federal Credit Union at 13050 Pond Springs Road near Hunters Chase Drive and U.S. 183 after reports of a robbery, police said.

Police are looking for a suspect and have not released more details about the robbery.
